Our Mission
Made to Belong is a faith-founded nonprofit organization that equips
families, churches, schools, and local leaders so children with
developmental differences are welcomed, understood, and never alone.
We walk alongside communities, in the United States and internationally,
to help every child with developmental differences find their place.
Our History
Made to Belong, Inc. was incorporated as a Wisconsin nonprofit
corporation on April 28, 2026. On May 6, 2026, the IRS issued our
tax-exempt determination letter granting 501(c)(3) status, effective
April 28, 2026 (EIN 42-2263128). On May 28, 2026, the Wisconsin
Department of Financial Institutions approved our charitable
organization registration (credential 26867-800).
In June 2026, our co-founders completed the organization's first
field trip to Beira, Mozambique: three weeks of listening,
relationship-building, and early partnership work with local schools,
churches, orphanages, and leaders serving children with developmental
differences.
Active Programs and Partnerships
- Teacher and caregiver training. We design and
lead training sessions for teachers and caregivers who serve children
with developmental differences. In June 2026 we delivered trainings at
Mission Vinde, Prestige School, Rei dos Reis, and Cambridge Heights in
Beira, Mozambique, with follow-up trainings already completed at
several of these schools.
- School and church partnerships. We are building
long-term partnerships with local schools and organizations serving
children with special needs, including Mission Vinde, Prestige School,
Kadesh Orphanage, and Mission Educate, so that support continues
between visits and grows under local leadership.
- Strategic field partnership. We work alongside
Equip Mozambique, our strategic partner organization in Mozambique,
to coordinate on-the-ground relationships and program delivery.
- Family and community support. We equip families,
churches, schools, and local leaders in the United States and abroad
with resources and encouragement so children with developmental
differences are welcomed and understood in their own communities.
